Jay says goodbye to camp

What I was pleased with was my photos and my writing.
What I found hard was my music.
My favourite part of my photostory was the one when I said to Reanna 'show off'.
Something I enjoyed learning was how to use the photostory.
I was entertaining.

Green Screening

I went to a workshop this afternoon where I learnt how to use green screening. That means taking a photo in front of a screen and then moving the main object in the photo on to another background image.

This picture is my first attempt. I used Picnik to add a speech bubble and effects to the photo.

Master Chef

Sarah focussed her camp photostory on the Master Chef competition. She created it with Yasmin and they did a wonderful job. It tells the story of an important part of our camp.

Amber's Random Camp Photostory

H & D (Half and Double)

Junathan and Raiha created this awesome photostory to show a strategy their group (The Coordinates) learnt in maths. They took great photos and and explained their strategy clearly. They showed fantastic teamwork (relating to others), creativity and thinking!

Jake's Camp Kaitawa

This is Jake's Kaitawa photostory. He asked Dylan to provide the voice which narrates the story. Dylan read out the words Jake had prepared. They both showed good teamwork and have done a great job.

Tiger in a Zoo

Our Literacy Starter this week has been the poem "Tiger in a Zoo". The trailer to the film "Madagascar" really helped us to make connections (text to the text) to the meaning in the poem. These connections helped us to visualise with our five senses and build our understanding of the text.

Good use of your reading strategies Room 18!

The Deer

We were running from the pipe line to the ginormous dirt hill. We were playing on the dirt hill running up and down. I sprinted down the hill. Suddenly I felt something beneath my feet. Holy cheese balls!!!
I nearly tripped over, I looked down at my feet then I saw it- the hooves and stomach of a deer. The smell was horrendous! It smelt like the girls' showers because I could smell that from 1 million miles away but it also smelt like the boys' toilet. I walked away trying not to breathe.
