Zoo Poem

Mum, what are we going to see at the zoo?

Will we see an anteater, eating ants?

Or a big beetle, burning its belly?

A chimpanzee, calling a cow?

Or maybe a deer, dashing from the dark trees?

Is it an elephant, exchanging trunks from a tree?

A fox, forgetting that he couldn't fly?

A giraffe, giving a goose to a girl?

A hippo, helping a hissing snake from the water?

I bet it's a jaguar, jumping across a jiggly rock?

What about a kangaroo, kissing a baby kiwi?

Just get in the car or else we're going to be late!

Is it a lion, lurking around the landscape?

I love monkeys that make themselves mad

Are we going to see an orang-utan, opening its orange?

Maybe a panda, peeling a potato

A rhino, raging to the round rocks?

Sit down and put your seatbelt on, now!

A snake separating a spinach?

How about a tiger, talking to its tail?

Are we going to see a wolf, wearing a wig?

I think we're going to see a yak, yelling at a yo-yo

A zebra zooming around the zoo?

Yay, finally we're at the zoo!!!

Be quiet, don't shout in the car!!!

You're the one who's shouting…

Why is our car full of wild animals?

Mum, where are the animals at the zoo?
