Enemy at the Gate, Chapter 29

Keenan and Annie drew quick visualising sketches on the interactive whiteboard as we read 'Enemy at the Gate' today. Such an exciting and beautiful chapter. Go Tom!

WALT play the guitar!

A big thank you to Shannon and Annie who were our wonderful Teach a Talent teachers today! They played us songs that they had been learning on the guitar. Then they helped children in the class learn where to place their fingers to play chords. Bravo!

Tractor Ride

On the tractor ride at Cape Kidnappers!

When my group got on the tractor I was so excited. The waves came to our feet and got them saturated then there was a huge wave and it went straight to my eyes. My eyes where stinging badly. Then on the way back from Cape Kidnappers we saw a big bone with heaps of teeth on it. Then the waves came up to our feet again and Hollie, Aaliyah, Reanna and me put our feet down and Hollie was screaming when her foot hit a big rock.

Our tractor got stuck so everyone on the tractor had to get off and we pretended we saw a baby seal. We said that so we could have the best tractor that never got stuck and when we passed the other tractors they poked their tongues out at us, so we did it back. Then Aaliyah kept yelling out "my underwear is wet."

It took an hour to get back to school. When we got to school the hot air was blowing across my face.

I did not want to get off the tractor, it was too much fun but I am still very happy I got to go.

Football Fever!

(Photos by Morgan)

The Team 5 World Cup is heating up! While New Zealand gives it their best shot in South Africa, a smaller tournament is entertaining the Parkvale massive every lunchtime at 1pm.

So far Room 18 has defeated one unlucky class 5-0 and lost 3-1 to the pre-tournament TAB favourites, Room 19.

I also just want to shout "Go the All Whites!!!"

Kids 4 Kids

Something I was pleased with was...
I was pleased with the soloists because they sang brilliantly and they remembered the songs off by heart.

I really enjoyed learning about...
The kids from Cambodia because I didn't realize how lucky I am. (From watching the the video.)

Something I found hard was...
I found the actions hard to do because there was not much room.

Something that made me think was...
I think Suzanne Prentice is a very nice person singing for people in Cambodia and acting funny in front of six hundred and something people.
