Our Photostories (Part 1)

These are some of our first attempts at creating a Photo Story - using the photos from our production. A lot of learning and a lot of fun!

29/06/10
Still thinking when to go on stage, I said my line to myself over and over trying to get the expression right. The Tree fellas sang their song “We’re the lumberjacks”. I said my line that I forgot on Friday but this time I remembered (boo yah). I was so pleased with myself I just hope I get my next lines right. Oh No I got my line wrong! Just Jokes! I hope I do that, that good tomorrow!!

I said “JUST JOKES” too early, last night was a nightmare. I didn’t forget my lines but I could not say my line.OMG! Mop it here was the sign to go off stage. I ran to the other side. I shouted my line out! The cleaners shooed us away. My feet twisted around a long white broom pole. I stumbled on to a hard, black stage! I tried to say my line but the giggles took over me. I tried again but they still were inside me. Tears of laughter filled my eyes, I looked at Miss Hill's face, it had an angry grin. That’s when I thought to my self “I’m in trouble now”. But it wasn’t that bad! (Phew). Miss Paki had a smile on her face, yes I told you I wasn’t going to but I did, I look at the bright, bright, bright, bright, bright(it could go on but you know) bright lights! So that’s the story of my worst nightmare!!!

YAY!!! The production is over, I’m disappointed it’s over but I like it at the same time because I hated the green sloppy paint being smudged over my face. I had so much fun during the production nights. Being on stage opened up everybody! Time flew by as we practised.

9 out of 10, 9 and a half out of 10, 10 out of 10 bounced off the walls of the hall. A silent YAY echoed the hall as the ice blocks came out. Green for you, red for you and white for you! A lot of people asked,“Do you want to swap”?
Now that the production is over what's next?

Aaliyah's Diary (Days 4-6)

Day 4

Yesterday we had our second dress rehearsal. Miss Hill wasn’t going to say anything BUT she did. She talked (oh no). When I was dancing to Lion King I said “uh oh” because Buffy stood on my tail. I was wearing it and it was just about falling. I quickly tied it around my waist so it didn’t fall out. Then next dance was Grease Lightning. Another problem - my glasses kept on slipping but I hope I don’t do that on the night. You know like muck up. So I hope I do well. I can’t wait till tonight.

Day 5

“OMG” I don’t won’t to come to school I’m too tired. Last night we went LIVE for the performance it was amazing. Tonight I have to sing two songs and two dances (hard work). I am singing for Rhiarne and I have to get in to a bird costume for the songs and quickly get changed for the dances. I am excited moreover panicky about tonight. Now that there are more seats my mum, brothers and sister can come. I can’t wait for them to come and watch me perform. And once again I love the production.

Day 6

It was time to walk on stage I was shivering and shaking. It was time to sing. I turned on my microphone. I was about to BURST because I didn’t want to sing. It was scary. There were at least more than 100 people there.

My mum was so super proud of me she said “watch out world here comes the next super singing star.” After my 2 songs I sang, I had to quickly go off and then try to take off the bird suit and put on my Grease Lightning outfit (hard work ha). It was amazing to do. I can’t wait to do it tonight. Once again, I love the production!

Going Live

Aaliyah’s Production Diary

Day 1

As the gangsters were talking and polishing their car we got a key to go on stage. We were heading on stage being all cool and fluffing our collars. I was very excited and I remembered all the moves of by heart. We have only been practising for around about 2-3 weeks. When I started dancing I saw Miss Hill dancing. I started giggling. Guess what? I'm in the front line for Grease lightning and Lion King! All the dancers are lucky because all the dancers get 2 dances to do.

Day 2

Yesterday we ran through the whole show it was amazing. I felt like I was a star shinning and shimmering in the light. Did I tell you the lights were just horribly bright? I felt wonderful, happy and excited anything just not angry and mad you know that sort of thing. It was so awesome to have the lights and curtains up and I think the UFO (spaceship) was ready. When the lion king song came on I started dancing and the music wasn't loud enough but I kept on dancing. I like the production - it is fun. (You know one day I can be a super star!)

Day 3

"Awesome" (yay) dress rehearsal time. Today we had a dress rehearsal it was fun everyone had a funky costume. Me, I had to wear a bow tie, ears, tails and jacket. You know what I'm talking about right? Well of course you do, it's the Lion King dance. When I went on stage I had tingly butterflies in my stomach. While the other people were performing I got ready for my next dance. It is Grease Lightning. We wore some spunky sassy supper glasses, jeans and a plain white top.
